New Fantastic Four images give us The Thing

As the secrecy swirls around Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four, due out this summer, a certain amount of hype gears up. One of the main factors so far is that we haven’t seen any of the team in superpowered action yet – but now, thanks to Empire posting a handful of brand-new images, we’ve gotten our first (official) look at The Thing, apart from seeing him from behind on the poster. A huge, humanoid mound of living orange rock, this new Thing is a world away from 2005’s Fantastic Four and its cartoonish, bright-hued monster. Take a look at the three new images – including The Thing – below:

Not only are we treated to the Thing, but we’re getting an even broader sense of how this movie looks like it’s going toward the science-fiction element, as opposed to being straight comic-book movie.
