Speaking with EW, Pixar president Jim Morris has said that the animation studio will move on from producing sequels once Toy Story 4, Cars 3 and The Incredibles 2 have released (with the latter film releasing in 2019). In his words: “everything after Toy Story and The Incredibles is an original right now.”

In our minds this is a good thing. Pixar has always been a company thriving off of originality; plus, their sequels haven’t necessarily taken things to new heights. The Incredibles 2 is perhaps their best shot at furthering one of their franchises, as it was always screaming out for a sequel, but even that might end up feeling like a bit of a retread.

Saying all of that though, have a read of Nick’s opinion piece on whether Finding Dory is too familiar to Finding Nemo or not?
