We already know that a new animated Pokémon movie is in development but now it’s been reported that the company behind the famous nintendo franchise are looking to produce a live-action film.
According to THR, “a top-secret auction” for the film rights is currently underway and “nearing completion,” with Legendary Entertainment, Warner Bros. and Sony all interested.
Sources suggest that Legendary will come out on top in securing the rights with The Pokemon Company reportedly “courting Hollywood to launch a big-budget live-action movie”.
This year marks Pokémon’s 20th anniversary and so what better way to mark it then with a live-action film set to be announced. Expect confirmation of this soon.
