Ryan Reynolds Wants More Money for Deadpool 2

Although Deadpool has become the biggest X-Men film ever at the domestic box office, it had a surprisingly low budget. Costing a mere $58 million to make, Ryan Reynolds only got paid $2 million to play the smart-ass superhero. With Deadpool 2 getting the green light, 20th Century Fox will have to offer the actor a much bigger salary.

Reynolds is already set to return for the Deadpool sequel and has stated that he wants the role for life. According to The Hollywood Reporter, though, Reynolds’ agents are currently renegotiating the sequel deal given the original film’s monumental success.

Although the opening credits of Deadpool described the director as “an overpaid tool”, Tim Miller only made $250,000 for the film. That’s still pretty respectable for a director’s first feature film, however. If Miller returns for the sequel, it’s likely that he’ll get a more substantial paycheck as well.

Reynolds and Miller certainly deserve a raise after making Deadpool such an awesome experience. Check out our review of the record-breaking moneymaker right here.
