Olga Kurylenko to star alongside Adam Driver in Terry Gilliam’s Don Quixote

Just last week, we broke the news that Terry Gilliam’s long-gestating project, The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, will finally go ahead with Adam Driver and Michael Palin on board. And now another name has signed up to the film, as THR reports that Olga Kurylenko has joined the cast.

Gilliam revealed the news himself at Cannes and spoke also of the other new cast members:

“It’s a funny thing. Along the way there have been so many versions of this story in my mind, and it changes with each cast,” he said. “Finally we have the perfect cast. Driver is the guy I’ve been looking for all these years. Thank God for Star Wars, Adam Driver is bankable!”

He also then spoke of Palin’s role, and how he was the only one of the Monty Python team he felt he could work with:

“The others are old and miserable. Mike’s the nice one,” he said, before adding that working with his old friends in the recent Monty Python reunion had been “impossible.”

Gilliam also revealed that Johnny Depp, who was set to star in the 2000 version which famously fell down, could make a cameo appearance. “It has crossed my mind,” he said.

Gilliam then joked that he can at last “get this film out of my life,” and it looks like he finally will as, Olga Kurylenko, best known for roles in Quantum of Solace and Oblivion, will join the shoot for The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, which begins filming in October.
