Wes Anderson to Direct Stop-Motion Dog Movie

Following up the success of The Grand Budapest Hotel, Director Wes Anderson has announced that his next project will be a stop-motion animated feature about dogs. According to Indiewire, the untitled film is already in pre-production. This won’t be the first time Anderson has tinkered with stop-motion as he previously made the Oscar-nominated Fantastic Mr. Fox.

Anybody who’s seen Anderson’s other movies knows that he isn’t afraid to give a cute, little doggie the axe. Remember what happened to Snoopy in Moonrise Kingdom and Buckley in The Royal Tenenbaums? One can’t help but wonder if any dogs will meet a grim end in this Anderson flick. Even if they do, all dogs go to heaven, right?
