The Coen Brothers’ Hail, Caesar! gets release date

After wowing critics with musical folk odyssey Inside Llewyn Davis, which was released earlier this year, it was difficult to pinpoint just exactly what writing-directing force the Coen Brothers would get up to next. A while back, it was announced that Hail, Caesar! would be their next project, starring George Clooney as a guy who has to fix the behind-the-scenes drama of 1950s Hollywood. Since that initial announcement, the cast has slowly grown into an impressive ensemble; Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, Josh Brolin, Scarlett Johansson, Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum will all star. And now, we have a release date – or a US one, at least – of February 5, 2016. The movie may be quite a way off, but we’re expecting another work of cracking wit from Joel and Ethan Coen (perhaps by way of Robert Altman’s similarly-themed movie The Player), and if that release date is anything to go by, expect it to light up awards season.
