Tetris Movie Will Be Part of a Trilogy

Threshold Entertainment is moving forward with their film adaptation of Tetris, arguably the most iconic and addictive puzzle video game ever made.

The Tetris movie will be co-produced by China and the United States for $80 million. According to Deadline, the film will be “a sci-fi thriller” and the first installment in a trilogy. Producer Larry Kasanoff says the film will be “not at all what you think.” Rather, it’ll “be a cool surprise.”

Seeing how Kasanoff’s previous credits include Mortal Kombat: Annihilation and Foodfight, we’re not so sure about this one. After all, how do you turn a video game with no story into a three-part epic? Who knows, though? Maybe all the pieces will fall into place.
