Sylvester Stallone Retires From Rambo Role

Sylvester Stallone recently declined reports that he would be involved the upcoming Rambo TV series. Now Stallone is saying that he’s done with John Rambo altogether.

In an interview with Variety, the 69-year-old actor expressed his desire to retire from his iconic role. “The heart’s willing, but the body says, ‘Stay home!’ It’s like fighters that go back for one last round and get clobbered. Leave it to someone else.”

Stallone also noted that he won’t be taking part in the proposed final Rambo picture. “There’s nothing left. When they asked me to do another Rambo, I said, ‘If I can’t do better than I did last time, and I can’t, then why?'”

If you want to see Stallone reprise one of his classic characters, he’s currently starring as Rocky Balboa in Creed. He’s also developing an Expendables TV series on FOX. As for John Rambo, though, it would appear Stallone’s last blood is long behind him.
