Stranger Things’ star auditioned for Logan’s X-23
Watching Logan, you might’ve noticed that X-23, aka Laura, has a fair deal in common with Eleven from Stranger Things. Both are extremely powerful little girls that don’t have a lot to say, but can leave behind a trail of dead bodies. While the role of X-23 ultimately went to Dafne Keen, she wasn’t the only young actress in contention. Ironically, Millie Bobby Brown, who broke out into stardom as Eleven in the Netflix series, also auditioned for the part.
Speaking with Variety, Brown revealed that she read lines in front of Hugh Jackman and director James Mangold. While Brown didn’t get the gig, she still considered it her best audition.
“I was like, ‘It’s going to be amazing, I’m going to really prepare,’ and I sat in my room reading the lines,” Brown stated. “Honestly, for me, I felt so—I felt an actor, in the audition room, hitting Hugh Jackman, and James Mangold sitting right in front of me.”
Brown went on to praise Keen’s performance, describing her as “incredible.” Despite missing out on the X-Men franchise, Brown has plenty of more acting jobs on the horizon. The second season of Stranger Things premieres in October. In 2019, she’ll be appearing in a little movie called Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Hugh, Godzilla vs. Eleven vs. X-23… now there’s a crossover we want to see!
