Stranger Things director to helm Uncharted Movie

The Uncharted movie seems to be moving forward again, with the announcement of a new director.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, producer and director Shawn Levy, best known for helming episodes of Netflix’s Stranger Things and the Night at the Museum films, will take on directing duties for the video-game adaptation.

The film did actually look in doubt after Sony dropped it last month from its schedule of upcoming releases. But this latest announcement will be music to the ears of Uncharted fans.

Writer Joe Carnahan (The A-Team) is confirmed to pen the movie script and said he’d “love” to direct it but can’t due to scheduling conflicts.

An Uncharted film has been in the works since 2009 and has had many directors attached but surely now with Levy on board, the project can finally gather pace.

However, Levy’s next commitment is Season 2 of Stranger Things, which you can see a teaser for below:
