Stephen King and Joe Hill heap praise on Crimson Peak

Crimson Peak may not be out until October 16, but that hasn’t stopped it being shown early to a handful of lucky viewers – and two of them happened to be world-renowned horror writer Stephen King and his son, and fellow horror writer, Joe Hill. Both had extremely positive things to say over Twitter about Crimson Peak, which stars Tom Hiddleston and Mia Wasikowska, with King stating:

‘Was treated to a screening of Guillermo del Toro’s new movie, CRIMSON PEAK, this weekend. Gorgeous and just f–king terrifying… CRIMSON PEAK electrified me in the same way Sam Rami’s EVIL DEAD electrified me when I saw it for the first time way back in the day.’

While Hill proclaimed:

‘Remember that list I tweeted the other day, the 13 most beautiful horror films. CRIMSON PEAK is the most beautiful of all… CRIMSON PEAK is Del Toro’s blood-soaked AGE OF INNOCENCE, a gloriously sick waltz through Daphne Du Maurier territory.’

That is some seriously positive buzz, from two creators of classic horror; we’re certain that comparisons to Evil Dead and Martin Scorsese’s Age of Innocence are not lightly given by these two. We can now officially say we’re dead excited for Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak.
