Snow White and the Huntsman Followup Gets Title and Posters

According to IGN, the followup to 2012’s Snow White and the Huntsman will be titled The Huntsman: Winter’s War.

The film will see the return of Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen. Chris Hemsworth is also set to come back as the Huntsman, Eric. Jessica Chastain will additionally star as a warrior named Sara and Emily Blunt will make her debut as an Ice Queen named Freya. The plot will take place “long before the evil Queen Ravenna (Theron) was thought vanquished by Snow White’s blade.”

After her sister’s death, Freya orders her “legion of deadly huntsmen” to retrieve the Magic Mirror so she may resurrect Ravenna. Thus, it’s up to Eric and Sara to stop the evil sisters from taking over the land. So instead of a gritty version of Snow White, we can probably expect a gritty version of Frozen. Snow White won’t even be in the film, which explains why her name is absent from the title. Also, only plan on seeing a maximum of two dwarfs.
