Robin Hood reboot gets release date

Lionsgate has announced a release date for Robin Hood: Origins.

The reboot stars Taron Egerton and Jamie Foxx and will hit theaters on March 23, 2018.

Egerton plays the titular character with Foxx portraying Little John. Joining them are Eve Hewson as Maid Marian and Fifty Shades of Grey’s Jamie Dornan, who will take on the role of Will Scarlett, the half-brother of Robin Hood.

Otto Bathurst is directing from Joby Harold’s script. While Leonardo DiCaprio is amongst the producers.

Kingsman’s Egerton is set to star as the iconic character.

The story will follow “Robin Hood as a war-hardened crusader who joins with a Moorish commander in an audacious revolt against the corrupt English crown.”

The most recent Robin Hood remake was directed by Ridley Scott in 2010 and starred Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett.
