Martin Scorsese to direct The Devil In The White City

Leonardo DiCaprio has been trying to make this movie for years but with no success. At last though, the adaptation of Erik Larson’s true-crime thriller novel The Devil In The White City will go ahead with Martin Scorsese coming aboard to direct.

Deadline Reports that DiCaprio will once again link up with Scorsese, a collaboration which has proven successful with the likes of Shutter Island and Wolf of Wall Street. Billy Ray, best known for writing Captain Phillips is on board to write the screenplay and Paramount was quick to snatch it up, beating the likes of Fox and Universal to the project.

The story will tell the real-life of serial killer Dr H.H. Holmes, who might not have gained the infamy of Jack the Ripper, but is alleged to have killed a slew of people around the time of the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago.

With production yet to start, the movie may still be some way off but that won’t stop us looking forward to this one.
