La La Land equals record with most ever Oscar nominations

La La Land leads this year’s Academy Awards with 14 nominations, equalling a record. And it’s no surprise after Damien Chazelle’s first ever musical won a record of seven Golden Globes earlier this month.

La La Land stars Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling and leads the charge, equalling the record of All About Eve and Titanic. And it also becomes the most nominated musical with 13, beating Mary Poppins.

Denis Villeneuve’s Arrival is not far behind with eight nominations, while Meryl Streep breaks a record too, becoming the most nominated performer in Oscar history.

Barry Jenkins’ Moonlight also has eight nominations, including Best Picture, which it won in the same category at the Globes. Check out the full list below:
