Fury rides to top of US box office

Fury took the US box office top spot this weekend with an estimated $23.5 million, according to Box Office Mojo. This figure was in line with expectations and was achieved with a predominantly male audience, showing that the right film can still draw large numbers from that demographic. Gone Girl had a strong third weekend with an estimated $17.8 million, putting it in second place, and The Book of Life rounded out the top three by opening to an estimated $17 million.
