John Wick’s David Leitch to helm Deadpool 2

While it was one of this year’s biggest success stories, not all has been well in the Deadpool 2 camp over recent months. First, Tim Miller exited the director’s chair over creative differences before composer Junkie XL quickly followed him.

But fear not ‘Pool fans as the ship is slowly steadying once again with EW reporting that replacement has been found in the form of John Wick co-director David Leitch is the man 20th Century Fox have chosen to take the reigns for the sequel.

Star Ryan Reynolds (who is also a producer of the film) is back in the lead with many of the original cast set to return although none are confirmed just yet. Rhett Rheese and Paul Wernick are back on script writing duties.

The sequel is rumoured to involve classic Deadpool villains Cable and Domino – the former has had the likes of Kyle Chandler, Stephen Lang, Jon Hamm and even Arnold Schwarzenegger mentioned as a possible candidate.

Sienna Miller, Ruby Rose, Mackenzie Davis and Lizzy Caplan reportedly on the shortlist for the latter but that was when Miller was still on-board as director.

Deadpool 2 opens on March 2nd, 2018.
