Ben Affleck Working on Script for a Batman Movie

There’s a lot wrong with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. One aspect of the film that’s gained almost universal praise, however, is Ben Affleck’s portrayal of Batman. While almost everyone initially complained when Affleck was cast in the role, he turned out to be one of the best things in the entire movie. It’s just too bad the Oscar-winner couldn’t have taken over writing and directing duties as well. Affleck might get to helm a Batman movie in the future, though.

The Hollywood Reporter recently spoke with talent agency WME’s co-CEOs Ari Emanuel and Patrick Whitesell. While discussing Affleck’s future in the DC Extended Universe, Whitesell noted that, “There’s a script that he’s written that is a really cool [Batman] idea, so that’s out there as an option.”

Although no more details were shared about a standalone Batman movie, Affleck is signed up to dawn the cape and cowl again in Zach Synder’s two Justice League films. Batman v Superman is already among the biggest financial hits of Affleck’s acting career, having grossed $500 million worldwide so far.
