Alien: Covenant director Ridley Scott teases Ripley’s return

Alien: Covenant director Ridley Scott is currently planning more films in the Alien franchise and has hinted at the return of original and popular character Ripley, played by Sigourney Weaver. With more prequels set in stone, surely we will soon see a younger Ellen Ripley? And a lucky fan put that question to Scott himself in a video interview:

The iconic director is certainly open to the idea of bringing her back but admits it’s probably “two films” away from being “feasible”:

“We’re heading towards the back end of the first Alien so (young Ripley) may be feasible. The time constraints, of what’s the time between this film, where we leave David going off heading for that colony, I think you’re probably two films out from even considering her.”

When asked how she’ll show up, he said:

“Ripley’s going to be somebody’s daughter, obviously.”

Scott has also previously spoken about the possibility of using CGI to de-age Weaver, so a younger version of her character can appear.
